West Indies have announced a mostly unchanged 15-man squad for their upcoming ODI tours of Ireland and England, with young talents Amir Jangoo and Jewel Andrew included in the traveling group. Shimron Hetmyer is the only notable absentee from the side that completed ODI series victories against Bangladesh and England in late 2024.

Wicketkeeper-batter Shai Hope continues as captain, while Brandon King and Evin Lewis are expected to open the innings. Keacy Carty is likely to slot in at No. 3, with rising stars such as Jangoo and Andrew vying for key roles in the middle order. Jangoo, in particular, impressed on debut with a 79-ball century in the third ODI against Bangladesh in Basseterre last December.

Pace bowlers Shamar Joseph and Matthew Forde return to the squad after missing the Bangladesh series due to fitness issues, strengthening a pace attack that also includes Alzarri Joseph, Jayden Seales, and Romario Shepherd.

Currently ranked ninth in the ICC ODI standings, West Indies are looking to maintain momentum in their push for automatic qualification for the 2027 ODI World Cup in South Africa and Zimbabwe. The three-match series against Ireland begins on May 21 at Clontarf Cricket Club in Dublin, followed by three ODIs against England starting May 29 at Edgbaston. A T20I series against England will follow, with that squad yet to be announced.

Head coach Daren Sammy expressed optimism about the squad’s trajectory. “These matches form a critical component towards the 2027 World Cup and there are signs of the team building consistency following the series sweep against Bangladesh and the win over England late last year,” he said. “We expect the conditions to be challenging, but we are creating a culture and mindset which emphasise playing the brand of cricket that is taking us closer to some of our overall objectives.”

In the coaching department, former fast bowler Ravi Rampaul takes over from James Franklin as bowling coach, while ex-Ireland allrounder Kevin O'Brien will temporarily join the setup for the Ireland leg of the tour.
